This Italian dessert, typically consumed during the Christmas holidays, was born in Verona; it was Domenico Melegatti who, in the XIX century filed the patent for this soft cake, whose shape recalls that of an 8-pointed star.

The Pandoro, in according to the ancient traditional recipe: it is a process that requires a lot of patience, and at least two days of work. 

The leavening is slow and natural and all the ingredients, from flour to milk, from eggs to butter and yeast, are of natural origin, fresh and genuine, free of preservatives and dyes.

Pandoro is a very versatile dessert: traditionally, it is eaten only in slices, with a sprinkling of powdered sugar or, alternatively, bitter cocoa. It finds a perfect pairing with full-bodied wines, characterized by an intense aroma and taste, and dessert wines. Obviously, it is also ideal with a milk soup for breakfast or a cup of tea or hot chocolate in the afternoon. It is a dessert that can be filled with any cream to make it even more delicious, from jams to chocolate. Not only: Pandoro can be used as a base to create delicious desserts. Try using it instead of biscuits in the tiramisu recipe... there are no words to describe its taste!

How to store it: keep in its well sealed bag in a cool and dry place.

  • Appearance: High, thin and not very consistent rind, yellow crumb.
  • Colour: Yellow.
  • Smell: Sweet, Balanced.
  • Taste: Sweet.

Ingredients: Wheat flour, fresh eggs, sugar, butter, rehydrated whole milk powder, natural yeast (wheat flour, water), emulsifiers: mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, cocoa butter, flavors, salt. May contain nuts, soy, and mustard.
