Parmigiano Reggiano PDO, the most popular cheese of the world, has been produced with the same ingredients for more than 8 centuries, and it has become one of the symbols of the lands surrounding the Po Valley.
It is produced only in the provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna and Piacenza, obtaining the title of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). Friesian cows produce the milk which gives birth to this fantastic cheese.
Parmigiano Reggiano spread very quickly in the world: it was mentioned by great writers such as Boccaccio in the Decameron and by Robert Louis Stevenson in the famous novel Treasure Island.

How to store it: Parmigiano Reggiano, shipped in portions obtained directly from cutting the whole wheel, once extracted from the vacuum has to be kept wrapped in cling film and placed in the lower area of the domestic refrigerator, at a temperature between + 4 ° / + 8° C. The surface of the rind has to be kept clean in order to avoid the creation of mould.
