Parmigiano Reggiano from Biological Agricolture means:
Livestock management and welfare: livestock must be provided access to pasture or the outdoors, facilities must be spacious and comfortable and health treatments must be in accordance with the principles of homeopathic medicine. Livestock nutrition: the forage and feeds fed to livestock must be OGM free and come exclusively from organic farms where the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides is prohibited.
Environment protection: organic Parmigiano Reggiano is a completely natural product made with methods that guarantee absolute respect for the environment and the animals.
Milk processing: organic milk is processed using natural rennet and without the addition of preservatives. Processing takes place in special vats and cauldrons reserved to organic milk and kept separate from all other production processes.
